Three students attended the NAEYC conference in Washington, DC in December where they presented a session on how to develop portfolios.

Several students made math games which were sent to a former UC student whose child care center was destroyed by Hurricane Rita. These games will assist early childhood teachers in Louisiana who are teaching in relocated centers.

Linda Plaisance, the former on line early childhood student, sent a king’s cake to say “thank you” and let us know things are getting back to normal in her hometown of Lafitte, Louisiana which is about 30 miles from New Orleans.

Collect children’s books for local child care centers and schools.

Committee chairs are needed to lead the work of interested students developing upcoming projects such as the book drive and math game workshop.

Student who see themselves as future leaders are invited to get to know the current officers to learn more about SEYC and set future directions.
